STOP AND FRISK

Stop and Frisk:

You would think that after the Manhattan Federal Court ruled that Stop and Frisk was unconstitutional, Mayor Bloomberg et al., would humbly concede. However, that was not the case. Instead, Bloomberg et al., have taken on an aggressive campaign to continue to defend New York City's racist policy. For years now individuals like Bloomberg have been unable to give any reasonable explanations for the disproportionate stop and frisk, arrest and sentencing of minority males. However, the one thing they have all been sure of is that, it is irrefutably not racially motivated.

Well thank you Mayor Bloomberg, because of the careful stats that your PD took, it is in fact irrefutably racially motivated and unconstitutional. Honestly when you think about it, there is no defending it without defining yourself either as racist, egomaniac, arrogant, or all of the above. The stats speak for themselves.

Now, I'm wondering what's up with the true motive behind Bloomberg's gun control advocacy. Is it really to help save lives or is it to keep guns out of the hands of the poor minorities who Bloomberg obviously thinks are more criminally inclined. Don't get me wrong, I am all for gun control. I don't think any non-law enforcement personnel needs or should have access to semi automatic and high powered weapons and ammunition.  But now that I think about it, I truly question Bloomberg’s motives and rightfully so. Furthermore, the stats show, there were more stop and frisks than there were minority males in the New York area. We could easily argue a case of pure harassment, because some of these men had to be stopped numerous times.

This brings me to last fall’s 35th Congressional District race, where Bloomberg poured millions of dollars in advertisement against one of the congressional candidates because of that candidates NRA rating. Like millions of other Americans I am hopeful that the NRA gets kicked to the curb and ceases to exist. But, what I don't want is an outsider buying the election in my area who can be considered a racist, egomaniac, arrogant, or all of the above. Especially when the area is predominantly minority to which Bloomberg would have no problem with a stop and frisk policy here; and if you don't agree, he'll finance a campaign to vote you out.

So Inland Empire Progressives, let's take note of who comes in our neighborhoods financing and paying for our votes to determine the outcome of elections that have direct consequences of who represents us in Washington, Sacramento and locally. We should be watchful of outsiders who do not see things as we do and pay millions to drive their personal agendas here in the Inland Empire. Our question should be, is it a fit for the Inland Empire? Let's be watchful and informative for those of us who are not so informed and make it our business to inform them.
