Presidential Prediction: President Obama Win 315 Electoral Votes

Nate Silver a former baseball statistician turn political prognosticator at www.fivethirtyeight.com has aggrigated the polling data and is predicting a President Obama win of 315 electoral college votes. He says the president has a 92% chance of winning picking up most of what he won in 2008, with the exception of North Carolina and Indiana. I for one, hope that Mr. Silver is right.

31st CD: Pete Aguilar’s Grassroots Support?

The Press Enterprise has an article about how much was raised in the area. However, I wanted to dig a little deeper into the financial statements of Blue Dog Pete Aguilar since he claimed the above on his Facebook Page. The financial statements of the Pete Aguilar show how much he is beholden to the conservatives of the Inland Empire. The sentence that really had me going was the last one: “…we have a robust grassroots coalition in place.” Pete Aguilar has no grassroots support. Period. Please Do NOT Vote for Mayor Aguilar, June 5th. Thank You He can make all the proclamations he wants, but I have not seen hide nor hair of Mr. Aguilar’s so called grassroots supporters. What I have seen and what Pete Aguilar’s financial statements reflect is an entrenchment of conservative interests that are trying to buy the 31st Congressional District. True grassroots support usually comes from the quantity of small dollar donations, not the quantity of the amount given.

35th CD: Nepotism and the Baca Dynasty

Rep. Joe Baca has tried to extend his empire by pushing his sons and corrupt allies to run for office. The voters have wisely and sometimes soundly rejected the nepotism that Joe Baca has tried to foist upon Inland Empire residents. His commitment to build a grassroots legacy is non existent. The only commitments  he attempts to make to Progressives is during election year. These hollow proclamations to sponsor policies that get Progressives excited have now fallen on deaf ears. Progressives have had enough! It is time to demand results. This Blue Dog has no principles on which to stand and deserves to be challenged in every election that he runs in. One day he will be defeated.  Mr. Baca has won election after election with more than 60% of the vote, why not try to build upon that and expand influence into more challenging areas of the Inland Empire. It is because his corazon is not with the grassroots, it is focus on the elite. All Mr. Baca is concerned about is...

Adelanto Voter Registration

Adelanto is in the High Desert and is split into 2 sub-areas. New Adelanto and Old Adelanto, which is by the Air Force Base out there. There is also a detention center, but I can't recall if it's federal or state. All I know is that it is hot as hell out there during the summer and cold as hell during the winter. I know Old Adelanto to be a lot tougher area because it is heavily in poverty and the African Americans and Mexicans can't seem to get along. I think it's the heat. Registration for Adelanto Dems increased by 183 Dems in 2011. This is a 5% increase from last year. The spike started around May and is upward trending. Last year was relentively flat and was probably due to the Conservative wave that was moving around the country at that time. I remeber the Tea Party being very active in Redlands, Chino Hills, and the High Desert. That was also a great year for California Democrats. We gained an Assembly seat inching us close to the 2/3rds needed to have sup...

IE Rising: Ground Game

In 2008, California more than any other state helped elect Barack Obama President of the United States. We canvassed in the harsh desert terrains of Nevada and Arizona. Also, we made over 3 million calls, the most out of every state! However, much to the chargrin of the California State Democratic Party, that victory did not translate into the much of the down ticket flipping of Republican seats because of the intense focus on getting Obama elected. Now, in 2010 the importance of activating these grassroots networks and applying that laser like focus to our own state cannot be ignored or marginalized. Organizing for America (OFA) should not be relied on to heavily contribute to victory in 2010. Every swinging Progressive in every county should be going all out making calls and knocking on doors to encourage the 1st time voters and persuade elusive independents to vote Democrat in November. Three is the magic number and we can do it, if we hit the streets hard and fast. The Inla...
