31st CD: Rep. Gary Miller Disses Minorities and Votes AG Eric Holder in Contempt

Rep. Gary Miller fears the National Rifle Association more than he does the minorities in the 31st Congressional District. The black and brown community is adamantly against holding Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. They are also against gun violence, which has surged since Rep. Gary Miller has started running for Congress in the Inland Empire.  I think some gun running is going on right here in my city of San Bernardino. What with 26 deaths so far? Why don’t we hold you in contempt? But I think the American public hold Congress in contempt these days with polling down in the dumps. What ever happened to jobs, jobs, jobs? Wasn’t that the Conservative mantra of 2010? How about Fast and Furiously reducing unemployment? This witch hunt amounts to nothing more than election year politics.

San Bernardino Police Need to Be Local

San Bernardino needs  a super majority (60%+) police force that actually live in the city. The current police force, like 70% or more live outside the city. The number 70% is arbitrary because I can only estimate how many live outside our city and the City Attorney Jim Penman won’t tell me. It could be more or it could be less. But you can see when a police force is made up of a bunch of outsiders because they only care about the money. The police make up 42% of the budget, which is the biggest portion of the budget. Second is the Fire Department with 24%.  The majority of our tax dollars go to folks who live outside our city. With a budget deficit of $4 Million dollars, we need to ask all of our city employees to sacrifice so that our city can balance its budget. It is harder to do this when many of San Bernardino city employees live outside the city. In addition, our allocations to police are growing (because they have the majority of the city council now) while San Ber...

The War Against the Millennials

We the Millennials, have been battered, beaten, and torn down by this economic crisis, and this is only the beginning. We will inherit by far the most challenging choices that have ever been faced by our nation. From the economy to the environment, we can easily become discouraged and disillusioned at our current plight. However, we can fight back. We are the most interconnected portion of the population and we can persuade the establishment on both the local and the national level that our interests matter.  If you don’t think so, look at the nation’s that have fallen to interconnected networks of youth. The Progressive commitment to the Millennials could not come at a more opportune time. To unite our sometimes apathetic generation the Progressives must present a bold position on principles and policies that ensure that our youth never again face the prospect of poverty and destitution. We, as Progressives, must present a path of stability and long term growth. These are the ...

Omnitrans suffers because of the budget

The governor has decided not only to take on unions in this budget battle, but also cut the whole public transportation budget in a bait and switch scheme to provide "relief" at the pump for POV driver's, while pocketing the rest to cover the shortfall in the general fund. Now not only are unionized transportation workers taking a hit because of it, but those who depend on public transportation to get to and from work will suffer because of it. Thank you Arnold and your conservative allies in the legislature for the low tax, small government rule. You just contributed about 3 to 4 percentage points to unemployment in the Inland Empire (2nd to Detroit). Yet we send the same jabronies to Sacramento every time. Conservative government service with a smile. Below is the link: http://www.sbsun.com/news/ci_14259001
