San Bernardino: Jim Penman is Unethical and Irresponsible

Power does not corrupt men; fools, however, if they get into a position of power, corrupt power.

In the past, Mr. Penman was probably a good man. No, he was probably a great man. He was a fighter of corruption and a stalwart defender of San Bernardino. He stopped politicians from taking advantage of San Bernardino by taking on corruption head on.

What happened to that man and when I do not know.

For a younger generation of San Bernardino residents, all we see from Mr. Penman is unethical conduct and irresponsible behavior. It seems that he and his supporters have a disdain and contempt for San Bernardino that is unprecedented. Even though they are the ones in power, can influence policy, and are the so called political leadership in this city it seems it is in their self interest to perpetuate San Bernardino as a slum.

This disdain by these Penman supporters leads to decisions that are questionable at best, but unethical and irresponsible at worst.

An example: ripping off taxpayers by hiring retired public safety folks at 3-5 times the median income of San Bernardino taxpayers, public safety officials who shit on us, shutting down venues that appeals to the youth and are economically beneficial to this city, and citing (without accurate statistics) that we have a parolee and gang problem, and many more.

The parroting of the parolee problem particularly irks me because it perpetuates a negative image and perception that San Bernardino is an unsafe city with no data to back such claims.

The excuse is always that San Bernardino is a violent, poverty stricken, and uneducated city so we have to pay more for the public safety services that are provided by folks who don't even live in our city.

It is time that we, the San Bernardino residents, taxpayers, and occupants, to stand up to the perpetrators of this perception by bringing about a reform movement that is so decisive and reckoning that no even long time politicians and their public safety lackey's can stand in our way to determine our destiny.
