I have respected Mr. Warner since I first met him at the Inland Valley Democratic Club. He is a solid pragmatic Progressive on the issues of the day. He will represent and defend the Inland Empire well. Compared to Asm. Mike Morrell, it should be a given to throw your support Mr. Warner.
Mr. Morrell has been extreme in the legislature and unproductive. Mr. Morrell takes Hard Conservative stands in this increasingly moderate district. Finally, he has no political courage to stand up to the base of his party and do what needs to do to benefit families in the Inland Empire.
Here are some good reasons to support Mr. Warner:
Compromise
In politics compromise is the political currency that gets things done. Mr. Warner can comprise to bring much needed funding ( for education, infrastructure, etc.) and jobs to the area in exchange for tough political votes. I point the Republican Sen. Bob Dutton example, that in exchange for his vote he brought jobs to San Bernardino. We need more of this instead of extremist posturing by Mr. Morrell.
Ideas
One of the best ideas that came out of the candidate forum with Russ Warner was his proposal to bring together the various Chamber Of Commerce from each city together in a regional way to develop a jobs plan for the Inland Empire.
Small Business Experience
As a small business man, he understands that it takes a local approach to create jobs. Getting out of the shadow of Los Angeles county is a going to take a person with the tenacity, will power, and fortitude to shake free of L.A.'s iron grip. I believe that Mr. Warner is that person. In addition, he understands that the environment and economic development are not mutually exclusive. Both are necessary in order to create long term stability.
2/3rds
For me personally this is the ultimate goal. Conservatives have become too extreme in their politics to govern effectively. Maybe sometime in the political wildness will teach them to moderate themselves. Mr. Morrell has proven himself be a caricature of this extremism.
